The vessel name is not a required field, so you can simply leave it blank if the vessel has no name.

That being said, there may be numerous areas throughout your report that include statements referencing the vessel’s name, and when this field is left blank these statements subsequently require adjustment.

An easy way to avoid these adjustments is to substitute the vessel name with another identifying field (like repeating the model or using the HIN). This will keep any referencing statements reading correctly and require far less textual adjustment to the report.

Nonetheless, if you wish to remove or edit the vessel name reference fields on the cover and title pages of the report you’ll modify two headings.
Under the Project Data Category locate the Topic Cover Page Data Elements and you’ll see a heading called Vessel Name (Cover). Modify the text field in this area with anything you wish to include, or remove the content entirely to exclude it from the report.
The same can be done under Title Page Data Elements under the heading called Vessel Name (Title).

Another great and easy way to modify the content on the cover & title pages is to make those changes from the Outline View.
